Economics & Sound Money
Our Economics & Sound Money course introduces students to the fundamentals of money, markets, and personal finance—with an emphasis on critical thinking and real-world application. Students explore topics like value, supply & demand, inflation, saving, investing, time-preference and the role of sound money (including gold, silver, and Bitcoin) in a historical and modern context.
This course is designed to be engaging, practical, and thought-provoking—encouraging students to ask big questions about how money works and why it matters. Lessons include hands-on activities, simulations, discussion prompts, and optional writing assignments to deepen understanding.
This course can fulfill the following high school credits:
Economics (1 semester)
Social Studies elective
Entrepreneurship or Financial Literacy elective (depending on program)
